Eat up with the Hungry Girl

If you haven’t seen the website Hungry Girl, www.hungry-girl.com, I encourage you to check it out. First off it oozzes with creativity. And given the fact that I have pseudo, undiagnosed ADD, I love looking at something that is laid out well and easy to navigate. Give me a website with way too much writing on it and I’ll click away faster than Britney Speaks changes her hair. I’ll forewarn all the men out there, there is a lot of pink on every link. Just pretend you are in Victoria’s Secret and go with it.

In her Chew the Right Thing section, Lisa, reviews recent additions to your grocery store shelves. If you are like me and fly through your local market like you are running the 40 at the NFL combine, this site will give you the low down on the latest and greatest additions to your supermarket shelves. Lisa is a self proclaimed foodie or foodologist, i.e. person obsessed with trying the latest fad diets and new products. And I have to say the foodies I meet are the greatest reference on what’s out there and what works in a reduced fat, reduced calorie and reduced sugar form without reduced taste. Like many of my clients, she has yo yo’ed with her weight for years before finally nailing down the dietary culprit she needed to minimize to get it under control. Now she shares her latest and greatest discoveries with the world and other foodies (like vitaminwater10 and vita muffins – two of my favorites). She has even re-created recipes that sound both interesting and delicious. Zucchini muffins, Crab Cakes (she still needs to rename these in honor of my home state), Shamrock Shakes and many more for the person who like me loves to experiment with food and then make their friends and family try their new creations.
